Vor fünf Jahren gründeten die beiden Landeskirchen im Kanton Zürich die Hotline Palliativseelsorge. Daniel Burger leitet die Hotline seit Juni 2022 gemeinsam mit der reformierten Vertreterin Helen Trautvetter. Die Zahl der Anfragen wuchs von Jahr zu Jahr, erzählt Daniel Burger, der lange Zeit Spitalseelsorger war. Menschen am Lebensende zu begleiten – da gehe es nicht darum, zu lobhudeln, nur weil der Seelsorger komme. «Es ist wichtig, auszusprechen, was ist, auch wenn jemand hadert mit der Situation oder die Lebensbilanz eine bittere ist.» Und ja, auch mal fluchen oder schimpfen gehöre dazu.
